Richard L. Holm, Senior Advisor
Richard Holm is a senior intelligence executive who excels in political, economic and operational intelligence assessment and analysis. He has been an operations officer and station chief with the CIA's Directorate of Operations for thirty-four years, seventeen of them in operations overseas. He is a China specialist with a working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese, Thai and Spanish and he is fluent in French. During his career, for which he received the Intelligence Medal of Merit among other awards, Mr. Holm headed two major CIA staffs, ran two key European Stations and organized aggressive campaigns to counter Soviet Bloc intelligence operations. He was also deputy and chief of a major Asian station, directed global clandestine intelligence collection programs and was a liaison to Congress. In the 1980s he was head of a Counter Terrorism Group where he restructured and expanded staff and programs in response to growing terrorist threats, and he coordinated security planning for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
